I extend to you the warmest of welcomes - along with a whole bunch of love & hugs from one princess to all my fellow princesses!
Did you know you're a princess? Some of you may; some may not. I am a slow learner. It took me over 40 years to realize I did not simply become a child of God when I confessed faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. I had become a princess, and I did not even know it!
God is so full of surprises. Just when I thought I was busy enough with my own plans, He shared one of His with me. Start an online devotional - for His princesses.
But why? Sometimes, no, often, God gives us instructions that do not make sense. He does not ask us to understand. In fact, He tells us not to depend on our own understanding. He commands us to obey.
Who will read it? How will people learn about it? What is the purpose? How will I pay my bills when I do enough unpaid work as it is? Why me? Isn't there someone better qualified? What about men? Should they be left out? Of course, I have not received any answers - only an encouragement from the Lord in my spirit to proceed.
So here I am. I extend to you with the love of God a very warm welcome to Created to be His Princess! - the online devotional blog of teachings and testimony from one precious princess - me! - to her fellow phenomenally precious and pretty princesses - you!
This online devotional is not a dream come true, but a dream coming true. I always dreamed of helping people in one way or another, but I was unable to share with others anything of true significance because I did not understand my own worth nor have anything that the world truly needed.
After years of wandering around lost and broken, with nothing truly worth giving in tow, I have not only discovered my value. I have found that all things are possible with the one who gave me the significance I had sought for decades - God. With faith in Jesus Christ, anything is possible.
Today, I realize the greatest gift I have been given is also the greatest gift I can give - Jesus.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, study of God's Word, immersion in the Body of Christ, and strong discipleship, and, most importantly, the development of a phenomenally intimate, personal relationship with the Lord, I have realized and accepted that I am not the lost and forgotten, insignificant, walking wounded woman I always pictured. Instead, I am His Princess.
I was not created to be who I always thought I was - a victim of life's circumstances, people's mistakes, and my own sins. I was Created to be His Princess. So were you, precious women.
God says in His Word that "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6 KJV)." I did not know I was His Princess, and I certainly was doing everything but living like one.
Today? I know I am His Princess, and I am learning how to think, feel, look, and act like His Princess!
The greatest tragedies I have witnessed in women are four-fold:
1. some women do not believe in Jesus Christ
2. some believe in Jesus Christ but do not study the Bible to learn their significance in Him and to learn to love, live, and serve as He calls us.
3. some women believe in Jesus Christ and study the Bible but do not apply the Bible to their lives
The results of all three? Our world is full of His Princesses who are not living, loving, and serving as the Princesses He created us to be.
But wait - I left out the fourth great tragedy. Time after time, woman after woman, I have watched females refuse to take off their makeup, bear their brokenness, break out the chocolate, share their mess-ups - and VICTORIES! - and grow together in the Lord.
Created to be His Princess! is not for women who want to dress up on Sundays and play church. Nor is it for women who want to present a pretty picture to the world while walking hiding their wounds and hurts where nobody can see and help.
Created to be His Princess! is for REAL WOMEN with REAL LIVES who want to GET REAL and learn how to live like His Princesses.
